The Constant
By: Abe Sierra Jr.

Locked Away
Deep In A Treasure Chest
All These Faded Photographs
Images Of Summer Sunrises
Along With Paintings And Portraits
Of Moonlit Winter Nights
Sealed And Concealed
Like Sacred Ancient Artifacts
Buried And Unmarked
An Act Of My Own Doing
Done To Spare Them From Any Further Damage
Boxed Away
In The Deepest Compartment Of My Heart
Buried In My Chest
Are These Recollections
Memoirs
Of
Sun And Moon
Of
Warmth And Chill
Of
Autumn And Spring
Of
Summer And Winter
Though They're Now A Bit Blurred And Damaged
They Still Serve As A Souvenir
A Notice
Reminding Me
That Throughout The Changing
Of Times And Seasons
Beauty Remains The Only Constant
But Only When I Choose To Look At It
